Dear Professor:
Since news in this country seem to circulate
very fast, you might already have heard that I too have come
here, about six weeks ago. The almost only remnants in Geneva
are now the Guggenheims.
I hope to have the opportunity of seeing you
soon. In the meanwhile, I beg to introduce to you the bearer
of this letter, Mr.Rudolf Lachmann Mosse, who is the son of
a friend of my family.
He came to New York in April and is looking
around for some research work in the field of social science.
Rudolf is a graduate from the University of Zurich; he wrote
his doctor thesis with Professor M.Saitzew, on "Nitrogen
Industry and its International Agreements.
Fortunately, he is in a position to wait a
little while until he finds remunerated work, so that he is
not obliged to take any work which is not in his line, just
for living purposes.
He has had the privilege of hearing several
of your lectures, but he is not known to you personally.
Therefore he has asked me for an introduction to you, as he
would very much like to consult you about his future.
It is with great pleasure that I comply with
his request, as I know him to be a very nace and capable
young man, who would surely greatly benefit by any advice
you might be willing to give him, and who certainly would not
disappoint any person sponsoring him.
