Professor and Mrs. Ludwig von Mises
777 West End Avenue
New York 25, N. Y.
Dear Professor and Dear Margit:
May I be a hitchhiker or driver in your car on May 17?
It turns out that I have to be at a luncheon in New York on that
day. I should be free by 2:30. Instead of taking the train, I
could offer you my company or my services as a driver, if you
want to have me.
If you want to leave earlier, I shall take the train,
and here are the directions for you. Go to the New Jersey Turn-
pike, leave it at Exit 9, which is the New Brunswick exit. The
first sign says "To New Brunswick and Trenton," the next sign
bifurcates the road to New Brunswick from that to Trenton, and
you take the latter. This is Route No. 1. Of course, you do
not go all the way to Trenton.
from Highway Nol,
There are several streets in to Princeton, I suggest
Washington Road. Follow Washington Road to Nassau Street, turn
left for one block, and right into Witherspoon Street. After a
mile or so, Witherspoon becomes Mt. Lucas Road (beginning at a
stop sign). We live in the second block on the left side, 222
Mt. Lucas Road (corner of Mansgrove).
In any case, I shall see you on May 17, and I look
forward to it.
Sincerely,
Frity
Fritz Machlup
