Simon Rottenberg to Ludwig von Mises Letter, February 21, 1962
Roosevelt University
430 SOUTH MICHIGAN AVENUE
CHICAGO 5. ILLINOIS
TELEPHONE
WABASH 2-3580
21 February 1962.
Dear Professor von Mises:
If it were convenient for you to come in October, we
should be enormously happy to have you then. Our students
and others in the community to whom we shall announce your
lecture would, we are sure, find it instructive and stimulating
and we hope sincerely that we may have word from you that it
would be convenient for you to come, if it should be postponed
until October.
If you do reply affirmatively, could you tell us the
date best for you (the lecture would beat 8:00 p.m. in the
University building, which is located close to the center of
Chicago; any evening, Monday through Thursday would do for
us); the subject of the lecture (this can be held in abeyance,
if you prefer); whether we may make hotel reservations for you
for the evening of the lecture or for this and additional days
(the Pick#Congress which is just across the street from the
University would be most convenient here, but you may have
other preferences); and whether we may arrange a small and,
hopefully, congenial dinner party, which would probably be held
in the Congress Hotel, for 6:00 p.m. of the evening of the lec-
ture. This information is, of course, superfluous, if you do
not find it possible to come.
May I reaffirm that we should be delighted to have you.
Sincerely yours,
Jimon
Rone
Simon Rottenberg.
