Mr. Ludwigh Von Mises
777 West End Avenue
New York, New York
Dear Mr. Von Mises:
Mr. Yust is happy to learn that you will be in a position to revise or
rewrite the articles BOEHM VON BAWERK, EUGEN (140 words) and WIESER,
FRIEDRICH VON (70 words) for a forthcoming printing of the Encyclopaedia
Britannica. He has turned the matter over to me to handle.
I am enclosing pasted-up proofs of the articles as they now appear. Cor-
rections should be made on the paste-ups themselves, and all deleted mate-
rial should be clearly marked. If the article is to be rewritten entirely,
salvaging none of the old material, cross out the entire paste-up and at-
tach your new manuscript to it. In any event, please be sure to return
the pasted-up proofs. You may feel free to revise or rewrite as much as
you, in your good judgment, think necessary. We ask, however, that you
keep within the present space limitations,
Also enclosed is a copy of our "Encyclopaedia Britannica Contributors'
Guide" to help you in the preparation of your material. A shorter list
of directions is attached.
I shall look forward to receiving copy from you by January 1.
Sincerely yours,
Haward
Karch
