Scott Stanley Jr. to Ludwig von Mises Letter, January 27, 1965
AMERICAN OPINION
An Informal Review
Belmont, Massachusetts 02178
January 27, 1965
Dr. Ludwig von Mises
777 West End Avenue
New York 25, New York
Dear Professor von Mises:
Thank you for your good letter of January 25th.
While we are naturally disappointed not to be able to have an article from
you for the April number, we do take pleasure in your hope to do the article
outlined in my previous letter for a fall number. What better way to com-
ment upon the burning problems of the monetary crisis than by compliment-
ing such a discussion with reference to your own practical experience in
Austria!
May we presume to set the date of your article in American Opinion for our
November issue-deadline for which is October 1st? That will give us plenty
of time to get first-class reviews of your books and to have a cover portrait
which will please you while at the same time satisfying your request for a
fall number.
You are both wise and correct in stating that one of our most important tasks
is to help eradicate the massive ignorance of free market economics. That is
the reason that one of our few regular features is devoted to that subject. And,
Hans Sennholz, as you will agree, has a most persuasive pen.
Again, may I extend our thanks for your support and advice.
Most Sincerely,
SS/cb
Scott Stanley, Jr.
