While it is true that we are talking about a Committee of 100, with representation from as many states as possible, you realize that the formula has never worked out so exactly, and it is sometimes difficult to find even two really steadfast and outstanding conservatives in many of these states. In fact, New York State does not abound in them. I would like very much to persuade you to take a place on the Committee, fully recognizing all of the things that you outline in your letter of June 22. There will be work to do, but I am sure you realize that we will find some willing workers, but we do need the flavor that your name would lend to the Committee. We are seeking not only conservatives but steadfast conservatives who will not waver with the least little political setback and you stand in the entire American community for the principles that we want to uphold. Therefore, I am asking you once again to reconsider the matter and urge you to sign the enclosed authorization card and return it to me.
