Dear Professor von Mises,
Your letter of March 4 to hand. Many thanks
for your article on " Mitbestimmungsrecht ". I shall "try my chance 11
and ask the AFL and CIO for information.
I shall place the books of the Volker Fund
in accordance with your instructions.
As to the genuine liberaas, are they never
calling private meetings in Europe ?
Thank you for the information on the Archbi-
shop of Canterbury. I did not yet know it.
Las t week I was glad to have your
- Economic Planning
I Middle-of-the Road Policy
- Profit and Loss
I read with interest in the book list mentioned in the latter that there
are other books I have not yet and which I shall have to buy. So I saw
that there is an interesting publication available off Lord Acton - Free-
dom and Power -. I found him first mentioned in Ropke's " Gesellschafts-
krisis der Gegenwart 11 and if I remember well in an article of Hayek
in ORDO I or II.
As concerns the translation of your Planned Chaos -
re your letter of March 4 and mine of March 15 - I hasten to let you
know that I am sure to do the French and German version for July 1st,
1953 as you want. Last week I tried more than a dozen pages in German
and French and saw that the training I had with Mrs. Lane's book has
not failed to be fruitful? I already translate easier. I had been able
to make this attempt because for more than a week I had had to wait for
Mrs. Lane's next suggestions for the alterations that have to be made in
the text of the end of her The Discovery of Freedom. - After all the
result of my attempt seems good. So I shall continue as soon as possible
I shall be able to do a lot of work during our Summer vacation.
I was happy to have last week ORDO IV ( I suppose
you know this publication of German liberals and social-liberals ? )
It contains a large article on Das wirtschaftliche Mitbestimmungsrecht"
by Professor Franz Bohm, Frankfurt am Main, covering something like
230 pages. I have not yet read it. I only looked on the different parts
of it. But he seems to be against it. You know perhaps this economist ?
Always delighted to hear from you, I remain,
With best wishes
Yours resorttally
