Dear Professor von Mises:
It's a long time since I received your last letter;
it was in Summer. - In September, after the necessary prepa-
rations, we moved to our new house here where you and Mistres
von Mises will always be wellcome!
In my study room I have under a frame a photo of
yours ( I was fortunate to get it at the Foundation, Irving-
Adam S' with will
ton, in Summer 1954 ) together with one of Thomas Paine,
still be added
Jefferson, Washington and Lincoln. So, when working hard, I
am in good, inspiring company.
I am very busy reading and taking notes, etc. for
my book I plan to finish for 1958. So far, the French title is
- Le Système de la Libre Entreprise Privée et Compétitive,
Instrument de Bien-Etre et de Liberté
I chose bien-être ( wellfare rather than prospérité, as
Socialists etc
so often refer to their wellfare.
I shall of course be very grateful for any sugges-
tions or hints or statement of books ( I should read ), some
much more experienced persons will be kind enough to let me
have! Once I shall start writing for the book, I shall not
fail to apply to you for advice, may I ?

these last months; she always replied she had too many books
to finish. So, much as I thought and wished that young readers
and even oldereones would be induced, after having seen this
small book of yours, to turn to the bigger ones , I had to
wait. Last week I returned her my corrected proofs, so I hope
that the book will still be available this month. Miss Génin
only changed some words in my text. -- For the next months
I dare hope for a big success as regards this first attempt
of mine - and moreover, for your book.
I was glad to hear that Monsieur Jacques Rueff is
now with the Cour de Justice of the Schuman Plan Authority,
at Luxembourg; I already met him once, he will try to help
