Edward E. Pratt to Ludwig von Mises Letter, August 4, 1950
NewYork University
SCHOOL OF COMMERCE, ACCOUNTS, AND FINANCE
WASHINGTON SQUARE, NEW YORK
August 4, 1950.
Professor Ludwig von Mises
777 West End Avenue
New York 25, N. Y.
Dear Professor von Mises:
I should have communicated with you before this, but although I
thought of reaching you and tried to reach you by telephone, it
later slipped my mind. I am leaving today by air for Paris,
where I should be tomorrow morning, if no accident intervenes.
I am going to spend 3 or 4 days there and will then fly directly
to Vienna. I would very much indeed like to meet the Rector of
the University of Vienna and also two or three members of the
faculty. As you know, I have formed the Commission on International
Cooperation in Education and I would like to get the opinion of
the men at the University of Vienna.
I know it is quite an imposition to ask for a letter of introduc-
tion at this late date, but if you can write me one or two letters
of introduction and send them on to me by air mail, I will surely
get them before my departure from Paris. In order to convenience
you, I am enclosing herewith an air mail envelope stamped and
addressed to me in Paris. However, my mail will be forwarded from
Paris and a letter sent me even at a later date will probably
catch up with me.
With very best regards, I am,
Very truly yours,
E.E Pratt
M.S.
E. E. Pratt
P. S. I am forwarding a copy of this letter to the above address
by regular mail.
