Dear Dr. Mises,
I am pleased that all our West Coast plans have been co-
ordinated into one trip for you and your wife. We are certainly
anticipating your arrival in Seattle, Friday, May 1, and your
seminar presentation Saturday, May 2, 1970. The seminar will
be held at the Olympic Hotel in Seattle and your accommodations
Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights will also be at the Olympic.
Charles Heatherly in Los Angeles will make the flight
arrangements and we will coordinate with him on that matter. We
will take care of your expenses here and contribute a $300
honorarium as discussed with Percy Greaves, Jr.
While here you will have about 11/2 hours for your lecture
and the question period and perhaps another 1/2 hour for panel
questions. Your presentation will begin about 3:00 P.M. We
will entitle your talk "Full Employment and Growth Fallacies".
This will give you an opportunity to thoroughly evaluate present
inflationary policies and point the way toward a market place
division of labor.
Percy will talk on monetary theory, then on monetary history;
Arthur Kemp will discuss gold, Norbert Einstein, the current
monetary crisis and you will put the topping on our seminar with
your evaluation of policy and prospects.
Several people have asked me if you would be available for
a small Saturday evening dinner with no lecture, just a brief
question period. Some fine University of Washington economic
students are most interested in your answer.
Have you ever visited Seattle before? Would you be avail-
able Sunday morning for a Space Needle breakfast and brief visit
to some of Seattle's viewpoints? Ron Heiner, Bill Garrison, Mike
Sharp, Doug Sharp, and Bob Cloes, all young Misesian students
have asked to be your hosts for a brief time on Sunday. Please
advise me on this.
