Ludwig von Mises to Louis Baudin Letter, July 27, 1954
July 27, 1954
Dear Professor Baudin:
I am terribly sorry to learn out of your
letter of July 22 that you had to undergo such
a painful operation. I hope you are bettor
now and will recover soon completely.
My husband too had to undergo surgery
last week. He had his gallbladder (filled
with 8 big stones) removed and it was a very,
very serious operation indeed, as the gallblad-
der YES deflamed and stones were in the passage.
He is still so weak that he cannot eat or sleep
and it will take weeks till hs is alright again
and in the position to assume all his activi-
ties. But - as the doctors say - he will
be like new again and that is what we are look-
ing forward to.
He sends you all his good wishes for a
speedy recovery and will try to take care of
the publication of your book as soon as he
starts his regular routine again. of course,
there cannot be any question of his visiting
Europe this year!
with all my very good wishes to you I
remain
Sincerely yours
