Dear Sir:
It has been very gratifying to see the reception
of your book, The Road to Serfdom, not only by the
critics generally, but by the public.
The Macmillan Company has just published a new
printing of my book, The Rediscovery of Man, which
analyzes the psychological causes for the trend which
you so well described.
I am sending an autographed copy with my compli-
ments. May I call your attention especially to chapter
11, "Personality or Slavery", and the title chapter.
Since its publication by Macmillan in 1938, the book
has gone through twelve printings and reached sales
of over five thousand copies. It did not have nearly
the reception by the critics which was accorded your
book, but, nevertheless, the great interest in this
field helped to carry it across.
Cordially yours
