AMERICAN SOCIETY OF INDIVIDUALISTS A non-profit, non-partisan, educational organization dedicated to alert- ing the American people to dangers inherent in highly centralized government operated by a power-greedy bureaucracy. Objectives 1) To prevent the idea of the supremacy of the individual from being submerged in the current wave of collectivistic doctrine. 2) To pass on to the coming generation an understanding of and a firm faith in the doctrine of individual dignity. 3) To re-establish as an impregnable fortress the rights of individ- uals and to protect these rights from encroachments of state power. 4) To oppose vigorously and relentlessly ever-increasing trends toward all-powerful government, which, by its very nature, is inimical to the real interest of all people and to America itself. Individualist Creed American Society of Individualists Believes: In the principles of Freedom and Liberty set forth in the Declaration of Independence and guaranteed in the American Constitution and Bill of Rights; That under our Constitution the People are masters of the State - not its servants - and that the primary purpose of the State is to preserve and protect the liberties of the individual; That this basic principle is the bedrock upon which America was founded and is primarily responsible for the nation's greatness and material prosperity; That all attempts by government to infringe upon this principle are unconstitutional and are inimical to the interests of the nation and its citizens; That collectivism is degrading and destructive, crushing the spirit of the individual and grinding down personal initiative and private enterprise with ever=increasing taxation which rapidly approaches confiscation; That the people's savings must be protected by a sound currency - one not manipulated for the benefit of international bankers, foreign govern- ments or domestic politicians; That the astronomical spending of the Federal Government is plunging the nation into disaster and must be stopped at once.
