THIRD ANNUAL NATIONAL STRATEGY SEMINAR US ARMY WAR COLLEGE Carlisle Barracks, Pennsylvania 11 - 14 June 1957 PURPOSE. - a. The National Strategy Seminar, the culmination of the academic year, will develop one or more concepts of national strategy, based upon preliminary student work and its discussion with approximately seventy distinguished guests. Additionally, the Seminar should promote mutual understanding between the civilian and military personnel present, regarding a viable national strategy. b. The Seminar will be held from Tuesday noon through Friday noon, 11 - 14 June. During the first afternoon, guests will be welcomed by their respective student committees, be oriented with respect to the problem, and briefed on the student-prepared strategies. The mornings of the next two days will be devoted to lectures and question periods; the afternoons, to joint guest-student committee discussions of the student- prepared strategies, based on the current world situation and aimed at the next ten years; political, economic, military, and psychological as - pects will be considered. During the last morning one or more strategies, together with significant variants, as developed within the committees, will be examined and discussed in plenary session.
