They have agreed in principle, but cannot make a final committment until their directors meet, which will be the latter part of September. They suggested that we not enter into a firm con- tract with Yale until this formality has been taken care of I had lunch today with Eugene Davidson, who has just come back from Europe. He was in his usual good spirits and seemed to be well. He is just finishing up his manuscript "The Trial of the Germans" which we plan to publish next spring. It will be an important book, and represents an immense amount of work. I hope that you and your wife enjoy your stay in Lugano.
