Aug. 10, 1965 Dear Prof. von Mises: My office called a day or two ago to say that you accepted the proposal of the Yale Press that they would accept our suggestion that we pay a 10% royalty on HUMAN ACTION provided you are willing to divide the proceeds with them. This is all on the assumption, of course, that we will completely re-set the book. we are ready to proceed, but before entering into a formal contract with rale we need the assurance that we can finance the resetting of the book. 1 have dis- cussed this with a foundation who have indicated their willingness to advance the money we will require, which we will repay as the book is sold, but they cannot make a firm commitment until the Board meets, and the next meeting is not until Swp. 22. 1 don't anticipate any further complications ordelats, but i don't think that we should sign the contract with lale until this last y formality has been taken care of. i have just written to Chester nerr to tell him that we will be able to submit a formal contract with them toward the end of ery September. e would like very much to attend the next meeting of pany the mt. Pelerin Society if it could be arranged. Would you be good enough to ask the Executice Secretary to HERS send me an invitation, if it is not too late? I am Illinois Street not entirely sure that 1 can go, but it may be possible llinois 60610 to arrange it. it is always a fine opportunity to see many people it is rather difficult to see other- wise, and 1 am told that the program will be partic- ularly interesting. 1 hope that you are having a pleasant summer, and that 1 may see you in Stresa.
