Frederick Nymeyer to Margit von Mises Letter, April 13, 1964
FREDERICK NYMEYER, 16546 South Park Avenue, South Holland, Illinois, U.S.A.
April 13, 1964
Mrs. Ludwig von Mises
777 West End Avenue (Apt. 12E)
New York 25, New York
Dear Mrs. von Mises:
My daughter-in-law, Anna Mae Van Baren Nymeyer, would
benefit, I believe, from subscribing to a French fashion magazine.
Does any particular one come quickly to your mind as probably
being useful to her?
She is still working on a name for her shop. She wishes it
to be somewhat French, but not a French name that will mean
little to an American or which will cause pronunciation
difficulties.
I have about made up my mind to go to the Mont Pelerin
meeting at Semmering in September. I have been told that hotel
space in nearby Vienna will be difficult to obtain in September
unless reservations are made early. What hotel do you recommend?
By temperament I am not interested in ostentatious living
anywhere, and certainly not in any foreign country. Furthermore,
I am not primarily interested in a hotel that caters to Americans.
What I really want is a hotel serving Austrian and European
business folk. If I must submit to a crowd in Austria, I would
rather be surrounded by Austrians and other Europeans than by a
mob of Americans.
I have given a little thought to going on to Budapest. What
do you all think of that? What worries me is that the Russians
will pick me up and ship me to Siberia.
I have discovered that the lowest rates prevail on trips not
less than two weeks and not more than three weeks. We plan to
make a three week trip.
With kindest regards to you and Dr. von Mises,
Yours very truly,
Frednick Ryneyer

P.S. I shall not be in New York again until the first of July.
