Dear Dr. von Mises:
Under separate cover we are sending you a copy of CALIFORNIA
MINING JOURNAL for August, 1965.
You are favorably mentioned, and intelligently quoted, on the
first editorial page; I have marked it.
We
sent a copy of the reprint by FEE of your article, "The
Gold Problem, thinking that the JOURNAL might take it over and
print it. Instead, they have made an extract from it. See page 17.
I have marked the publication elsewhere where I read something of
interest. You might be interested in page 14.
CALIFORNIA MINING JOURNAL is not particularly circumspect in
its comments on the precious metal situation and the of
the
United States Government.

We are down to 150 copies of PLANNING FOR FREEDOM. As we have
reported previously, individual sales and bulk sales have been
higher in the past twelve months than ever before. By the time we
can get a new printing, with copies ready for shipment, we will
probably be down to about zero inventory.
The latest issue was by the offset printing method, but we
employed our regular letter press printer who farmed the work out.
We are about ready to authorize a new issue by our local offset
printer, a man known as Alonzo Kallemeyn operating under the name,
Park Press. If we run 4,000 instead of 2,000, the cost will drop
to about 36c against a former cost of 66$ for the printing and
binding.
Over the last year and a half we have averaged to move about
100 copies a month. To have 4,000 printed means that our stock
would not be exhausted until more than three years hence. I am
inclined to take the chance; however, the sale might slow up; our
movement is noticeably dependent upon the resale by AMERICAN OPINION
(John Birch Society), Nathaniel Branden Institute (associated with
Ayn Rand), FEE and Americanism Educational League (Knotts' Berry
Farm).
I shall release printing instructions before the end of the
month, and if you have any amendatory ideas, we shall be glad to
hear from you.
As you know, we have approximately 14,000 copies of "Middle-
of-the-Road Policy Leads to Socialism, which we are thinking of
